Harvard Victorian Tiles

Finished Project at Leagrave

Leagrave, Bedfordshire

In greater detail

On the first meeting with my client I could clearly see that a new reinforced concrete base was required as the existing tiles were sunken and cracked. The base was replaced and new Victorian tiles installed with bespoke bullnosed yorkstone steps surrounding. My client wanted an Edwardian style path in keeping with the property and they are 100% happy with their new entrance! Very welcoming.

Review from Google:
We have had a really positive experience of using Ross to completely renovate the front doorstep and tiling in the porch of our home.
It was not a straightforward project as before any actual tiling could be done the original front doorstep had to be replaced without damaging the wooden frame, front door and stained glass. Challenging, when it is not possible in a period property to fully establish how it was originally constructed. Before Ross started on site, we were reassured by the careful thought given to sequencing and timing the various stages of the work.
Obviously, we also liaised extensively about the scale and colours of the tile design and the all important stone to surround it. We were very impressed that Ross managed to source Yorkstone that was the exact thickness and aged to match the materials from 1919 when the house was built.
The job started with the demolition and building a proper foundation slab – it was quite nerve wracking – however the care taken to tackle this element of the job was exemplary. As was the attention to detail and craftsmanship shown when installing the stone and laying the tiles. Nothing was too much trouble and we think this shows in the finished work.
